A seasoned social dancer, experienced instructor and recovering salsa addict, Jack is known as a light-hearted, musical and graceful leader whose intuitive floorcraft and relaxed creativity make for fun, relaxing and intriguing dances. His love of the salsa stems from a love of salsa music, especially the danzóns of Ruben Gonzalez, the big-band arrangements of Perez Prado, and the cool polyrhythmic melodies of Cal Tjader.
He is thrilled to be again sharing his love for the music and the dance as a teaching assistant and as a events organizer. He is assisting Tianne Frias and Kat Kretsch in weekly. Jack also organizes the Cha-Cha-Cha Playground, a quarterly dance social dedicated to dancing Cha-Cha-Cha.
Jack began salsa dancing in 2005, taking classes from Tianne Frias, Evan Margolin and Alison Hurwitz. From 2006 through 2007, he assisted Tianne with beginner- and intermediate-level classes. Jack joined the Afinkao Dance Company's On-2 development team and trained under direction of Jayc Labio.
